Top Thermal, also known as Laminated Thermal, is a type of thermal label that can be printed without the use of ribbon, using the direct thermal method. To achieve this, it is necessary to use a barcode printer that is compatible with this printing method. Laminated Thermal Labels come with a protective layer that increases their lifespan when compared to Eco Thermal Labels.

These labels are highly preferred in the industry due to their low cost and long lifespan, and no dependency on Ribbon. Although their adhesive properties and paper weight are similar to Eco Thermal Labels, the protective surface is what sets them apart. It is important to store Laminated Thermal Labels away from heat and light, although they still boast greater durability than Eco Thermal Labels which is the reason for price difference. On average, Top Thermal Labels have a lifespan of 6-9 months, after which the print quality may diminish, and the label may darken.
